Story
Carrie ( Claire Danes ) and Reda ( Patrick Sabongui ) confer with Seku Ba (J. Mallory McCree) asking about $ 5,000 under his mattress. Seku claims that he borrowed them from his friend Saad (Leo Manzari) to visit his father in Nigeria, although Saad wanted Seku to meet with someone else in return. At Carrie’s request, Max ( Mori Sterling ) looks into Seku’s past and concludes that Saad is actually an informant for the FBI. The court does not allow Carrie and Reda to meet with Saad, so Carrie herself tracks Saad and encounters him. Saad admits that he was a member of the gang and became an informant when he was arrested, and that his manager, special agent Conlin ( Dominic Fumusa ), forced him to break off relations with Seku and offer him money. Saad stresses that he told Conlin that Sekou in no way supports the terrorists.
Dar Adal ( F. Murray Abraham ) is talking with the head of administration of the elected president, Rob Emmons ( Hill Harper ). According to Dar, the CIA believes that Iran is secretly pursuing a nuclear program with North Korea’s assistance, and that Israel plans to detain its Iranian liaison, Farhad Nafisi, when he makes a planned trip to Abu Dhabi. Sol ( Mandy Patinkin ) visits Carrie and accuses her of being an adviser to President-elect Keen ( Elizabeth Marvel ), noting that Keen's views on foreign policy are very similar to Carrie's. Carrie denies this, but later she does date Keane and Emmons. After reviewing the situation in Iran, Carrie suggests that Sol represent the United States in Abu Dhabi and speak with Nafisi. Dar gets photos of Carrie going to meet with Keen, but decides not to show them to Saul.
Quinn ( Rupert Friend ) refuses to take medicine; as a result, he has a seizure while shopping at a nearby store. When Carrie returns home, Quinn asks for a video in which he was exposed to sarin gas, claiming that he does not remember anything about what happened. Carrie shows Quinn the video and talks about how she used the video to save his life. Quinn replies, “Why?”, Causing Carrie to sob and repeatedly say, “Sorry!”, Leaving Quinn confused.
