Biography
Born on January 25, 1953 in the village of Ergli, Madona district, Latvian SSR. In March of the same year, the whole family moved to the city of Balkhash, Kazakh SSR.
After graduating from the local high school number 9, in 1969 he entered the GPTU number 2 in the specialty "electrician". At the school, Alexander began to play sports. After graduation, he began his career at the Balkhash bakery. He continued to engage in boxing, became the repeated champion of the city and region, the champion of Kazakhstan, the silver medalist of the All-Union competitions of 1978, receiving the title of " Master of Sports of the USSR ."
From 1971 to 1973 he served in the Soviet Army. After demobilization, until 1980, he worked as a boxing trainer at the Balkhash Sports Club. In 1981-1995 he worked at the Youth Sports School of the " Labor Reserves " sports society (based on the city SPTU-4). At the same time, Apachinsky was the head coach of the national boxing team of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 1992, Alexander Ivanovich Apachinsky for training the European champion among youth - Vasily Zhirov [2] , was awarded the title "Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan". Among the achievements of Apachinsky as a coach is the conquest of the Kazakhstan national boxing team in two gold and two silver medals at the Olympic Games in Sydney (Australia, 2000).
