Igor Stefan Kokoshkov ( Serb. Igor Stefan Kokoshkov / Igor Stefan Kokoškov ; born December 17, 1971 ) is an American basketball coach of Yugoslav origin. He became the first coach of European descent to head the NBA club - Phoenix Suns in 2018.

Biography
Born in the Serbian village of Banatski Brestovac. Graduated from Belgrade University . Kokoshkov’s gaming career ended on a tragic note - he was in a serious car accident. He coached various club teams in Belgrade and was in the coaching staff of the Yugoslav (now Serbian) men's and youth teams. At the age of 24, Kokoshkov became the youngest coach in the history of local basketball.
Knowledge of English and sound ambitions allowed Igor to attract attention overseas. In 1999, he was invited to the University of Missouri [2] .
As an assistant coach in the National Association's basketball league, he is the first European in a similar position. Kokoshkov is also the first non-American to occupy a similar place in the NBA [2] . In 2004, he became the first non-US assistant coach to win the NBA Championship, in 2006 - the first to work on the NBA All-Star Game coaching staff [4] .
On April 18, 2008 Kokoshkov was appointed head coach of the Georgian national basketball team, with which he participated in three European championships [4] . In January 2016, the Slovenian Basketball Federation announced the appointment of Igor Kokoshkov to the post of coach of the national team of the country. The contract with him was signed for two years [5] .
