Biography

He made his debut in ice hockey in the Quebec Youth Hockey League for the Cornwall Royals team in 1977. From 1980 to 1982, he played in the Swedish Championship for Jurgorden, from 1982 to 1988 - for Södertälje. In 1985 he became the champion of Sweden, in 1986 he won silver. In 1986 he was selected for the NHL draft by the Detroit Red Wings.

In 1987, he played 12 matches in the American Hockey League for the Adirondack Red Wings. In 1988, he joined the team of the first Swedish league “Vestra Frölund”. He spent two seasons on the team, and with the club he rose to the elite in the 1988/89 season. From 1990 to 1992, he played for Sodertalje. In total, in the Swedish championship from 1980 to 1992 in the highest Swedish league in the regular season, spent 305 matches, scored 56 goals and gave 93 assists, and played 22 matches in the playoffs, marked 6 times with goals scored and 4 times assisted by partners in taking gate rivals.

From 1993 to 1997 he performed in the lower divisions of Sweden for the Oscarshamn team. In 1997 he played 18 matches in the German Championship for the team "Ratingen". The 1997/98 season started in the fourth league in Sweden for Kalmar, in the middle of the season he joined the British team Cardiff Devils. The following season, he won the play-off of the British Hockey Super League as part of the Welsh team. In the 1999/00 season, he worked as an assistant to the head coach of Cardiff. From 2000 to 2002 he defended the colors of the teams of the fourth Swedish league, in 2002 he ended his playing career.

In the 2003/04 season led the English team "London Racers". From 2006 to 2008 he led the team of the third league of Sweden "Vita Hosten". From September 4, 2008 to May 31, 2009, Peter Ekroth led the Polish national ice hockey team [1] . In 2011, he worked as a coach at the Swedish Höradsbygdens Club. In the 2014/15 season, he led the team as head coach. In April 2014, he headed the Polish hockey club Avtomatika Gdańsk [2] . November 30, 2016 left his post [3] .
