Under natural habitat conditions, it is a powerful perennial herb 2-2.5 m tall. The stem is herbaceous, lignified at the base, reintroduced trifoliate-forked-branched, leafy. The lower leaves are very large, up to 35 cm long, pinnate, finely stressed, upwards simplified. Flowers are collected on 3-17 pieces in short thick brush . The flowers are large, similar to the flowers of potatoes , the calyx is 5-leaf, green, corolla spinolepedo, wheel-shaped, dark purple, sometimes with 5 yellowish veins [2] .
The fruit is a juicy oval-shaped two- berry berry , 2-3 cm long. Seeds are numerous, small. The plant is poisonous, but the local population considers the fruits to be edible [2] .
It grows in Australia , New Zealand [3] [2] and the subtropical zone [2] .
In the temperate zones of some countries of the former USSR is cultivated as an annual [3] .
For medicinal purposes, the herb is used - Herba laciniati [3] . To harvest, the above-ground part is mowed during flowering and in the phase of setting of immature fruits. The raw material contains about 2.5 percent of a mixture of steroidal alkaloids , which consists of solanine and (in a smaller amount) solmargin , giving the same aglycone solasodin during glucose cleavage. The carbohydrate part of solasodine consists of rhamnose , galactose, and glucose [3] . The shelf life of raw materials for 3 years on list B [3] .
In traditional medicine, dolat loin is used to treat malignant blood diseases ( leukemia ). Used to produce progesterone , as well as for the synthesis of cortisone and other steroid hormones [4] .
