Biography

Born on April 23 ( May 4 ), 1782 [1] . After graduating from a private educational institution in 1798, he began military service as a non-commissioned officer in the garrison Major General Pushchin of the 1st Regiment [2] ; in 1800 - ensign.

He participated in the Russian-Swedish war - in the capture of Forzby (1808).

Before the Patriotic War of 1812 he was appointed (12/25/1811) commander of the Brest Infantry Regiment ; during the Battle of Borodino , he first took command of the Ryazan Regiment (after the death of A. M. Oreus ) [3] , and then - after the wound of the regiment’s chief (Major General Ivelich ) he took command; by his example, he encouraged subordinates to excellent performance of their duty. Presented to the lieutenant colonel ", which received 11/21/1812; from 08.30.1816 - colonel . He participated in the battles of Vitebsk, Smolensk, Vyazma (1812), in the battle of Dresden (1813), in the capture of Paris.

He was released from the leadership of the regiment from 07/08/1820. For his long service, he received the Order of St. George IV class (No. 3695; November 26, 1823). Produced as Major General 04.02.1827.

In 1831 he was appointed commandant to Kazan .

Lieutenant General from 03/17/1845; general from infantry from 01/01/1864 [4] .

Since 1846 he was appointed present in the Moscow Department of the Senate ; then was first present at the General Meeting of the Moscow Departments of the Senate.

According to Polovtsov, he died on February 26 ( March 10 ), 1874 ; in the Yearbook of the Russian army the date of death is indicated - March 4 ( 16 ), 1871 . He was buried in the cemetery of the Novodevichy Convent .
