Rude, Rick

Richard Erwin Rood ( born Richard Erwin Rood ; December 7, 1958 - April 20, 1999 ), better known by his name "Ravishing" Rick Rude, was an American professional wrestler who advocated many promotions, including the World Championship Wrestling (WCW). ), World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and Extreme Wrestling Championship (ECW). He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 1, 2017.

Rood fought from 1982 until his retirement in 1994 due to injury, and in 1997 was the final match. Among other awards, he was a four-time world champion (three-time WCW world champion in heavyweight and one-time WCWA world heavyweight champion), one-time world champion in intercontinental WWF heavyweight and one-time WCW champion in US heavyweight champion. Rood also challenged WWF World Heavyweight Champions and NWA World Heavyweight Champions on a pay-per-view basis.

In 1997, Rood co-founded influential stable D-Generation X, as well as Sean Michaels, Triple H and Chyna. On November 17 of the same year, he became the only person who appeared on WWF's “Raw War” and on Monday on Monday in Nitro on the same evening when the first one was recorded in advance, and Rood left for WCW.

Early life

Rood was born in St. Peter, Minnesota to Richard Clyde Rood and Sally Jean Thompson. He attended Robbinsdale High School in Robbinsdale, Minnesota with Tom Zenk , Dean Peters, Brady Boone, Nikita Kolov , Kurt Hennig , John Nord and Barry Darsow , all of whom later became professional wrestlers. He was especially close with his childhood friend Kurt Hennig.
