History
On the map of the St. Petersburg Governorate, Ya. F. Schmitt of 1770 is referred to as Rybets [2] .
FISHERMEN - Roshton village, inspectresses of noble maidens, number of inhabitants according to audit: 69 m. P., 79. Clause (1838) [3]
On the map of F. F. Schubert in 1844 and S. S. Kutorgi in 1852, is designated as Rybitsa village, consisting of 29 yards [4] [5] .
In the explanatory text to the ethnographic map of the St. Petersburg province of P. I. Köppen in 1849, the number of Ingermanlanders living in it is shown in 1848: 44 meters. P., 54. p., a total of 98 people [6] .

In the XIX - early XX century, the village administratively belonged to the Christmas parish of the 2nd camp of Tsarskoye Selo district of the St. Petersburg province.
In 1913, the village had 25 yards [9] .
According to the data of 1933, the village was called Rybitsa and was part of the Mezhensky Village Council of the Krasnogvardeysky District [10] .
According to the data of 1966, 1973 and 1990, the village of Rybitsy was part of the Orlinsky Village Council of the Gatchina District [11] [12] [13] .
In 1997, 40 people lived in the village, in 2002 - 66 people (Russian - 89%), in 2007 - 34, in 2010 - 53 [14] [15] [16] [17] .
Geography
The village is located in the southwestern part of the district on the 41K-464 road ( Bolshevo -Rybitsy).
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement - the village of Rozhdestveno , 6.5 km [16] .
The distance to the nearest railway station Siverskaya is 4 km [11] .
The village is located on the right bank of the river Oredezh .
