Biography

Since 1923 - at journalistic work, he worked in editorial offices of republican, regional, district and district newspapers.

In 1925 he graduated from the Communist University of the Workers of the East in Moscow. For two years I attended lectures at the Institute of Literature. In 1929, he became the first editor of the first Kazakh-language newspaper Kenes Tuy in Pavlodar Irtysh.

In 1942 he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of the Kazakh State University .

He worked in the editorial offices of the newspapers "Zhas Kairat", "Leninshil Zhas" ("Zhas Alash"), and "Ontustik Kazakhstan". He was the chief editor of the newspaper "Socialist Kazakhstan" (now - "Egemen Kazakhstan" ). He was an editor, head of department, translator at the Office of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR .

From 1941 to 1944 he was the chief editor of the Kazakh State Literary Publishing House.

Since 1961 - senior lecturer, dean of the philological faculty, associate professor of the department of Kazakh literature, head of the department of Kazakh literature of the Kazakh State University ( Al-Farabi Kazakh National University ), 1975-1987 - professor, adviser-professor at the same university. Scientific and creative activities

One of the most famous literary scholars in Kazakhstan.

He devoted his whole life to studying the history of Kazakh literature and the press. The main merit of B. Kenzhebaev is the work in the field of research of Kazakh literature. Kenzhebaev proved that oral Kazakh literature originates not from the works of Bukhar zhyrau , but from Orkhon-Yenisei monuments , thereby the scientist pushed the history of Kazakh literature a few centuries ago.

In addition, Beisenbai Kenzhebaev studied the life and work of such prominent figures as S. Toraigyrov , A. Kunanbaev , D. Dzhabaev , M. Seralina , M. Auezova .

He was engaged in translating works of classical literature into the Kazakh language , among the translated works of A. Pushkin , A.P. Chekhov , G. Maupassant , E. Hemingway , Lu Sin , Y. Gashek and others.
