Physical location
The village is located on the banks of an unnamed tributary of the Shan River. Nearby are the villages of Kosovo (2 km), Logachevo (4 km), Radyukino (5 km), Myatlevo village (13 km), Warsaw highway [2] .
History
In 1782, Mosharovo (Masharovo) was a village with wastelands of Nikolai Gavrilovich Ogaryov , along the banks of the Sukma River. In the village there is a pond, mill, wooden manor house [3] .
Since 1827, his native grandson, Alexander Alexandrovich Chelishchev , the Decembrist , lived in his estate Mosharovo .
In 1871, the grandson of Alexander Alexander Chelishchev, philosopher Sergei Alekseevich Askoldov was born in Mosharovo [4] .
Attractions
Mass grave of Soviet soldiers of the 43rd Army [5] , who died in January-March 1942 in the Medynsky district of the Smolensk region. Located on the outskirts of the village, not far from the banks of the Shan River, nearby are the trenches. The monument is the figure of a grieving mother on a high pedestal, bowing her knee and head, with a wreath in her right hand. The grave was created in 1954, the monument was erected in 1957, made by the sculptor Kuleshov. The remains of the soldiers were transferred from individual graves located in the surrounding villages [6] .
