Michael Chapman ( born Michael Chapman ; born November 21, 1935 , Boston , USA ) - American cameraman, film director and actor. Twice he was nominated for an Oscar for camera work in the movies " Raging Bull " and "The Fugitive ."

Biography
Born on November 21, 1935 in the city of Boston, USA [4] . He studied at Phillips Academy in the city of Andover, as well as at Columbia University where he studied history and literature [4] . In 1965 he began his film career as an assistant on the set of the film “Who Killed the Teddy Bear”. He worked as an assistant cameraman on the set of the Godfather and Jaws films. The first work of Chapman as the main cinematographer was the painting “ The Last Outfit ” of 1973, where he also starred as a taxi driver. As a director, he made his debut with the film “ All the Right Moves ” of 1983. On the set of the film " Vikings Saga " acted as a director and screenwriter.
Known for the films " Taxi Driver " and " Raging Bull " directed by Martin Scorsese , " Ghostbusters 2 " and " Kindergarten Policeman " by Ivan Reitman , as well as the films "The Fugitive ", " Space Jam " and " Primal Fear ." Member of the Screen Actors Guild of the United States and the American Society of Cameramen [4] [5] .
He retired in 2006 [4] after filming the movie “ Bridge to Terabithia ” directed by Gabor Chupo .
