Content
History
In the “List of Populated Places of the Land of the Don Don Land”, published in 1864, the locality is mentioned as the Kachalinsky farm in the yurt of the village of Pyatizbyanskaya of the Second Don Don district , at the Liska river, located 55 versts from the district village of Nizhne-Chirskaya . In Kachalinsky there were 28 yards and 69 inhabitants (39 men and 30 women) [2] .
According to the List of populated areas of the Donskoy Troops Region, according to the 1873 census, there were 34 yards in the settlement and 97 male and 96 female souls [3] .
In 1921, as part of the Second Don district, it was included in the Tsaritsyn province [4] . In the period from 1928 to 1935, the farm was part of the Kalachevsky district . In 1935, the Kachalinsky Village Council became subordinate to the newly formed Kaganovichi District (in 1957 it was renamed Surovikinsky) [5] .
Geography
The farm is located in the southwestern part of the Volgograd region, on the banks of the Liska River, at a distance of about 29 kilometers (in a straight line) northeast of the city of Surovikino , the administrative center of the district. The absolute height is 55 meters above sea level [6] .
The climate is classified as humid continental with warm summers (according to the Köppen - Dfa climate classification ). The average annual temperature is positive and amounts to + 8.3 ° C. The average temperature of the coldest January is −7.2 ° С, the hottest month of July +23.6 ° С. The estimated long-term rainfall is 380 mm. During the year, the amount of precipitation is distributed relatively evenly: the least amount of precipitation falls in February (23 mm), the largest amount - in June (42 mm) [7] .
