The obverse depicts a standing monarch in an electoral vestment over a plate with a sword at his shoulder, a helmet and metal gloves on the table next to him. On the reverse - a coat of arms with a crest , in a circle - 20 small emblems [1] [2] . The “CR” coin sign indicates that the münzmeister of the Konstantin Rothe was responsible for the issue of the coin [3] .
Coins with this image were issued in denominations of 1 [4] , 1½ [5] , 2 [6] and 4 [7] thalers , as well as trial gold in 20, 25 and 30 ducats [1] [2] [8] .
At their core, they were Reichstalers , which, according to the Augsburg coin charter , were supposed to contain 1 ⁄ 9 of the Cologne mark of pure silver [9] . This corresponded to 29.23 g of silver 889 samples, or 25.98 g of pure silver [10] .
