Content
Geography
Located 13 km west of Dmitrovsk in a swampy area on the right bank of the Rastorog River. Altitude - 187 m [3] .
Etymology
It got its name due to the fact that cranes nested and twisted on trees in a nearby swamp.
History
It was founded before the 1917 revolution by immigrants from the neighboring village of Domakh [4] as a result of population growth and crowding in the village [5] . In 1937 there were 30 courtyards in the village [6] . During the Great Patriotic War, from October 1941 to August 1943, he was in the zone of Nazi occupation. The battles for the liberation of the village were fought on August 18-21, 1943 by the 399th Rifle Division of the 48th Army [7] .
