Following the results of the previous season , SPAL , Verona and Benevento left Serie A, as well as Trapani , Vicenza , Pisa and Latina , who left for the Professional League, left the league. They were replaced by Empoli , Palermo and Pescara , who took the 18th, 19th and 20th places in Serie A , respectively, as well as the Cremonese Professional League teams (1st place in Group A), “ Venice ” (1st place in Group B), “ Foggia ” (1st place in Group C) and “ Parma ” (playoff winner).
