Geography
It is located on the Kurasovka River (the left tributary of the Solotinka , the Psela basin) [3] , about 6 kilometers (along the highway) [4] east of the district center - the urban-type village of Ivnya , the height of the village center above sea level is 178 m [5] .

History
For the first time in historical documents, Kurasovka was mentioned in 1837, administratively related to the Oboyansk district of the Kursk province . Since the foundation of the Ivnyansky district on July 30, 1928, it has been part of it and has been the center of the Kurasovsky village council [7] . Since 2004, it has been the administrative center of the Kurasovsky rural settlement [8] .
