Special Kuban Plastun Battalion

A special Kuban (“Ulagaevsky”) plastun battalion is the Cossack infantry unit of the Armed Forces of the South of Russia .

History

The formation of the 1st National Kuban Cossack Detachment (1st Kuban Cossack Cossack Defense Unit) under the command of Colonel S. G. Ulagai was begun on November 29, 1917 and completed in mid-January 1918. March 11, 1918 went on a campaign from Yekaterinodar as part of the detachment of General V. L. Pokrovsky. On March 13, after joining the Volunteer Army , he joined the 2nd Brigade of General Borovsky as "the Plastun battalion of Colonel Ulagai." He participated in the battles for Ekaterinodar. On September 19, 1918, by order No. 144 of the Volunteer Army, it was renamed the Special Kuban Plastun Battalion. In October 1918 he participated in the battles for Armavir. On November 14, 1918, under the command of Colonel Rutkovsky, he was included in the 1st Kuban Plastun separate brigade (Troops of the North Caucasus).

In the summer and autumn of 1919, he acted as part of the Grozny detachment of General Kolesnikov, suppressing resistance in Chechnya. September 29, 1919 with the support of the armored train "Terets" took the Gudermes aul.

In September 1920, in Adler, he joined the Army of the Renaissance of Russia, Major General M. A. Fostikov. On September 31, during the evacuation of the rebels in Gagra, he was loaded onto the Don transport, on which he arrived in Feodosia on October 8.
