Prior to the death of the first president of Turkmenistan, Saparmurat Niyazov , the Union of Women of Turkmenistan bore the name of the mother of Saparmurat Niyazov, Gurbanzoltan-edzhe , who was considered the national heroine of Turkmenistan during the reign of Niyazov, a number of objects such as streets and other geographical objects were named after her (for example, the city of Gurbanansoltan -Eje ), the eponymous order , the name of the month is April in the Turkmen calendar .
