She began athletics at the age of nine in her native New Kakhovka . Under the guidance of coach Igor Karatun, she became the winner and prize winner of national competitions in hurdling, long jump and heptathlon [1] .
In 2010, she made her international debut, taking 11th place in the heptathlon at the junior world championships .
While training in Brovary with Elena Stupachenko, at 22 she completed the standard of an international class master of sports , becoming the second in the pentathlon at the Ukrainian Indoor Championship with a score of 4507 points [2] . A month later, I went to the European Championships in the room , where I performed only in the long jump (I reached the final, where I took eighth place).
She won a bronze medal at the European Youth Championship in 2013 with a total of 5898 points.
Significant progress was made in the results in 2015, having improved personal records in the five heptathlon disciplines during the season. At her debut world championship she took seventh place with the best result in her career - 6359 points [3] .
In 2016, she participated in the winter world championship in pentathlon. She set personal records in the first four disciplines and was in the lead before the race by 800 meters, ahead of compatriot Alina Fedorova and Canadian Brianna Theisen-Eaton by more than 100 points. However, it was not possible to keep the advantage: Theisen-Eaton was able to play 13 seconds in the final form and became the champion. Mokhniuk with a personal record of 4847 points won a silver medal [4] .
On April 14, 2016, it became known that in the doping test Mokhniuk taken at the indoor indoor championship, banned meldonium was discovered [5] . The athlete was suspended from participation in the competition until the end of the proceedings. On February 28, 2018, the IAAF officially announced that the case of meldonium was not the fault of the athlete: she did not receive disqualification for him, but, according to the rules, she lost the silver medal of the winter world championship. At the same time, it became known about another positive doping test, which Mokhniuk passed on April 21, 2016 as part of out-of-competition control. For this case, she was assigned a 4-year suspension [6] .
