Af-Abed [1] ( Tigrinya ኣፍዓበት , Afabet ) is a city in the north of Eritrea and the center of the region of the same name.

The city became the site of a major battle (the battle of Afabet ) during the Eritrean War of Independence and is still surrounded by trenches, but was mainly rebuilt.
