History

From 1918 to 1944, there were 49 confectionery workshops in Moldova. However, there was no modern equipment at the enterprises: all baked goods, sweets and caramels were made manually, using artisanal methods on gas burners, under the light of kerosene lamps. In 1946, by decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Moldova, production at Chisinau Factory No. 1 was modernized and launched.

This company began its activities in 1946, as a small enterprise producing cookies and pasta. Soon, the company bought all the necessary modern equipment from Germany and reoriented to confectionery. The main goal of the company at the time of its creation was to satisfy consumer demand in the confectionery market. [2]

In 1949, a pasta workshop with a capacity of 10 tons per day was put into operation, subsequently the figure increased to 50 tons per day. In 1952, a biscuit shop with a capacity of 14 tons per day was commissioned, then increased to 33 tons, and in 1955 a candy shop with a capacity of 7.5 tons per day. In the same year, it was renamed the Confectionery and Pasta Factory.

Due to the development of the technology developed in the factory for continuous production on highly mechanized lines, the production of confectionery products increased from a few kilograms to thousands of tons.

In 1986, production capacities reached 42 thousand tons of confectionery per year.

In the early 90s, due to market reforms in the country, there was a sharp decline in production, investment, and the company was on the verge of collapse. On September 28, 1992, in agreement with the labor collective and in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Moldova “On Joint-Stock Companies”, the leased enterprise became a closed joint-stock company with joint state and privatized capital. So the company received the status of AOKP "Bucuria".
