Biography

Born May 7, 1921 in Kiev.

Before World War II he was engaged in gymnastics . In 1941 he became the champion of the all-Union championship DSO " Lokomotiv " in gymnastics. Since 1938 he studied at the Moscow Institute of Railway Engineers (now the Russian University of Transport ), but did not graduate from it because of the war.

During the war he built defensive fortifications in the Smolensk region . In 1942 he was sent to the infantry school, after which he became the platoon commander. When Grigory Kupko was a cadet, he understood the shooting techniques well and after the end of the war he took up bullet shooting. He was a two-time champion and bronze medalist of the 1954 World Shooting Championships; multiple winner and record holder of the USSR championship in bullet shooting. Kupko was a member and captain of the USSR national bullet shooting team in the 1950s . He trained with G. Anisimov, played for the Kiev SKA, where after graduating from a sports career he became a coach and worked as a shooting curator (1962-1972).

In the coaching position, he prepared a number of athletes, including V. Romanenko [2] and F. Bubble . [1] Later, Vitaliy Romanenko worked as a coach with him. [3]
