Paryaguán ( Spanish: Pariaguán ) is a city in the north-east of Venezuela , in the territory of Ansoategui . It is the administrative center of the municipality of Francisco de Miranda .

History
The settlement from which the city later grew was founded in the 40s of the 18th century as a Franciscan mission.
Geographical position
Paryaguan is located in the western part of the state, east of the upper river Unar , in the Orinoco tar sands area , approximately 132 kilometers south of Barcelona , the state's administrative center. The absolute height is 260 meters above sea level [1] .
Climate
The climate of the city is characterized as tropical, with dry winters and rainy summers ( Aw in the Köppen climate classification ). The average annual rainfall is 1046 mm. The least amount of precipitation falls in February (6 mm), the largest amount - in August (182 mm). The average annual temperature is 26.5 ° C [2] .

According to the National Institute of Statistics of Venezuela, the population of the city in 2013 was 39,140 people [3] .
Transport
The national motorway No. 15 ( Spanish Troncal 15 ) passes through the city.
