Be careful with desires

Doug Martin ( Nick Jonas ), a young guy, spends the summer with his parents at their lake house. When a wealthy banker, Elliot Harper ( Dermot Mulroney ) moves to a new location, Doug immediately starts talking with his young wife, Lena Harper ( Isabelle Lucas ). Eliot hires Doug to work on his yacht, which gives him a reason to communicate more often with Lena, who does not like Elliot and remains with him only because of his business. In the end, a romance begins between Lena and Doug. Lena warns Doug that her husband is an imperious and jealous man; she talks about the beating her husband inflicts.

One evening, Lena calls Doug and asks for help. She claims that Elliot attacked her, and she, fighting off, accidentally killed him. Lena convinces her lover to help her cover her tracks. Since Elliot died, a large amount of insurance is transferred to the girl. Suspicion quickly falls on Doug. In the end, he realizes that Lena has been manipulating him all this time, intending to accuse him of killing Elliot; during the investigation, she claimed that instead of a mutual relationship, Doug persecuted and raped her, and then killed Elliot in a fit of jealousy. Doug tries to prove his innocence.

Lena received insurance money, the police are ready to arrest the guy. This forces Doug to start looking for clues, such as the phone that Lena used for secret conversations with him. Lena shows the last gesture of love: she herself hands over a phone containing justifying evidence.

Lena and her lover, Angie, flee the country in a private jet.

In conclusion, Doug's behind-the-scenes voice tells that he was nevertheless sent to prison, but only for a short time. Lena and Angie are still on the run.

In September 2012, it was announced that Isabelle Lucas would join the cast of the film. The director, Elizabeth Allen, directed a film scripted by Chris Frisin in partnership with Hyde Park-Image Nation , Troika Pictures and Merced Media Partners ^[1] . In January 2013, a casting was held ^[2] . In March 2013, it was announced that Nick Jonas joined the cast of the film as Doug Martin ^[3] . In the same month, it was announced that Dermot Mulroney would play the role of Elliot. ^[4] In April 2013, it was said that Graham Rogers would play the role of Carson, Doug's best friend ^[5] .

Filming began on April 22, 2013 in North Carolina ^{[2] [6]} and was completed in May 2013 ^[7] . The film was partially funded by $ 1,193,150 (approximately 25% of the cost of filming) by the North Carolina Revenue Department ^{[8] [9]} .

Even before filming began, Hyde Park International sold the rights to distribute the film in Germany , Latin America , Eastern Europe , the Middle East , Turkey , Portugal , South Africa and Indonesia ^{[3] [1]} . The film was released on August 22, 2015 in Spain and gathered 1.4 million viewers for the first viewing ^[10] . In March 2016, Starz Digital acquired the rights to distribute the film in the United States.
