In 1985, he graduated from the Turkmen Polytechnic Institute , specializing in oil and gas fields technologist and integrated mechanization.
He began his career as an engineer, junior researcher at the Turkmen branch of the All-Russia Scientific-Research Institute of Gas. Then he worked as a research associate and senior research associate at the Turkmen branch of the All-Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Gas, head of a department at the Oil and Gas Institute.
