Equatorial Africa is an ambiguous term that is sometimes used to refer to a tropical Africa or sub-Saharan Africa region intersected by the equator [1] . The French Equatorial Africa (Afrique Équatoriale Française, AEF) was a federation of four French colonial possessions ( Gabon , Middle Congo (now Republic of the Congo ), Ubangi-Shari (now Central African Republic ) and Chad ), from 1910 to 1959 . African countries through which the equator passes [2] :
- Sao Tome and Principe
- Gabon
- Republic of the Congo
- Democratic Republic of Congo
- Uganda
- Kenya
- Somalia
