Biography
Evgeny Chesnokov was born on October 9, 1944 [1] . In the mid-1980s, Yevgeny Chesnokov in Dnepropetrovsk began to collect the women's eight from rowers, who, in his opinion, were promising athletes, among them were Elena Pukhaeva and Sariya Zakirova [4] . The training of the new eight by coach Chesnokov took place in the Zenit sports society on the basis of Mashinostroitel, which was located on Komsomolsky Island . Chesnokov recruited athletes from different cities, so the team was Lena Matveyenok, who moved from Kherson to Dnepropetrovsk [5] .
The coach was able to lead the athletes to victory in the Grand Moscow Regatta in 1985, and Sari Zakirova, as well as Elena Pukhaeva, were included in the full-time national team, whose athletes were preparing for the World Cup [4] .
After the victory of the athletes, Yevgeny Chesnokov was included in the national team of the Soviet Union [5] .
After his athletes were in the team, they won gold medals in 1985 in Belgium and in 1986 in England [4] .
He is engaged in supporting and developing rowing among sports veterans. In July 2010, he planned to go to the European Championship in Munich for rowing among sports veterans [6] .
