Biography
She was engaged in acrobatics in Voronezh in the local sports school [1] , trained under V. Litvinov.
In 1976, Vera Zelepukina was invited to Togliatti , where she became part of the local women's trio, replacing Lyudmila Gulyaeva . In Tolyatti, she met her future husband, six-time champion of the USSR, the winner of the World Cup, Yuri Shokhin , who was invited there as a coach. Soon, the couple had a daughter, Olga, and six years later, daughter Maria. Later, the couple moved to Voronezh [2] .
Achievements
The training of women’s pairs in sports acrobatics and the competition between them began in the USSR only after it turned out that women’s pair exercises were included in the program of the first world acrobatics championship . The first couples formed in Volgograd , Moscow and Voronezh. The coaching council decided to send a Voronezh couple from Vera Zelepukina and Tatyana Burlakova to the championship. They were opposed by couples from Bulgaria , Germany and Poland , where this discipline has been developing for several years, so bronze medals in all-around and silver in the second exercise [3] [4] were regarded as a victory [5]
Speaking in the top three together with Tamara Dubrovina and Tatyana Sablina Vera Zelepukina in 1977 won the 5th international competition in memory of the USSR pilot-cosmonaut V. N. Volkov [6] , and in 1978 won the title of champion of the RSFSR and the USSR [7] .
USSR master of sports of international class [8] .
