Valery Nikolaevich Nikulin ( 1945 - 1999 ) - Soviet and Kazakhstan boxing coach. For many years he worked as a trainer in the sports society Dynamo in the city of Kustanay , a personal trainer of titled Soviet boxers Alexander Miroshnichenko and Eric Khakimov . Biography
Valery Nikulin was born on November 5, 1945 in the city of Chelyabinsk , the RSFSR . In his youth, he was seriously engaged in boxing, fulfilled the standard of the USSR master of sports . He is a graduate of the Chelyabinsk Pedagogical Institute (now the South Ural State Humanitarian Pedagogical University ).
After completing his athletic career, he switched to coaching, trained novice boxers at the Dynamo Sports and Fitness Society in the city of Kustanai . He served as director of the Kustanai regional youth sports school.
Over the years of coaching, he trained several famous boxers who have achieved great success in the international arena. One of his most famous students is world-class master of sports Alexander Miroshnichenko , bronze medalist of the Summer Olympic Games in Seoul , silver medalist of the World Cup, bronze medalist of the World Cup, finalist of the Goodwill Games, winner of two bronze medals in European Championships, who later made a successful career among professionals [1] . His other pupil, master of sports of international class Eric Hakimov , is a bronze medalist of the Goodwill Games, champion of the USSR, winner of the USSR Cup, multiple winner of Soviet national championships [2] .
For outstanding achievements in the coaching field, Valery Nikolayevich Nikulin was awarded the honorary title “ Honored Coach of the USSR ” (one of five Kazakhstan boxing trainers who received this title). He also has the title of Honored Trainer of the Kazakh SSR and was awarded an honorary diploma of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR
He stood at the origins of the Professional Boxing Federation of Kazakhstan. He served as deputy president of the Federation of Professional Boxing of the USSR [3] .
The eldest son from his first marriage is Eduard Valerievich Nikulin.
Wife - Iraida Viktorovna Nikulina. Son - Vladislav Valerievich Nikulin.
He died on July 25, 1999 in Kostanay at the age of 54 years.
