Gelanes horstmanni ( lat. ) - a species of riders of the genus Gelanes from the family Ichneumonidae (subfamily Tersilochinae ). The species name is given in honor of the German hymenopterologist Klaus Horstmann ( Klaus Horstmann , Germany ), a major specialist in ichneumonids [1]

Distribution
North America : Mexico , Tlaxcala, Nanacamilpa. Caught in the tent trap of Malez in a mixed forest consisting of pine and oak at altitudes from 2830 to 2900 m [1] .
Description
Small hymenopteran riders , body length 5.0 mm, wing length 3.9 mm. Antennae with 25 segments of flagellum (flagellomeres). Head rounded behind eyes. The ovipositor is very long (the total length is greater than the length of the whole body), the length of the end sheath of the ovipositor is 3.0 the length of the hind tibia. The main color is brownish black with yellow marks. Presumably, like close species, parasites of sawflies of the genus Xyela . The species was first described in 2017 by the hymenopterologist Andrei Khalaim ( Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences , St. Petersburg , Russia ) using typical materials from Mexico [1] .
