Biography

Born on November 13, 1966 in the village of Redeseni in the Suceava County in Romania in the family of Miron and Elena Ayonei [1] .

From 1984 to 1989 he studied at the seminary of the Nyametsky monastery . In the same monastery, on February 1, 1989, he received monastic tonsure. June 8, 1989 there he was ordained hierodeacon [1] .

In July 1989 he entered the Theological Faculty of the University of Bucharest , where he graduated from the first course. In July 1990, he was transferred to the service at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Iasi . In this regard, he moved to the Theological Faculty at Iasi University , which he graduated in 1993. On December 30, 1990, he was ordained an archdeacon . On October 13, 1993, in the Iasi Cathedral, he was ordained a hieromonk , and on November 21 of the same year, he was ordained a protosingel [1] .

In 1995-1996 he attended courses in the Greek language at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Athens . At this time, he also served in the church of St. Panteleimon in Athens. [1]

On March 24, 2001, the Metropolitan of Moldova and Bukovina, Daniel elevated him to the rank of Archimandrite [1] .

On September 29, 2014, the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church elected him Bishop of Prahovsky, Vicar of the Archbishopric of Bucharest. On October 30, in the Patriarchal Cathedral of Konstantin and Elena , he was ordained bishop [2] .
