Biography
Born on April 11, 1997 in Odessa . Mom - Bocharova Valentina Vladimirovna, accountant; father - Bocharov Nikolay Vladimirovich, driver. Little Kostya met music at the age of 4, when his grandmother gave him a present - a music box with the melody “To Elise” by Beethoven .
In 2003 he entered the Odessa comprehensive school No. 27, was in the school choir, participated in productions, wrote scripts and was completely absorbed in creativity. During breaks, he constantly gave mini-concerts in the music cabinet, where all the students who were not indifferent to the guy’s talent gathered. Even now, coming to the walls of his native school, the artist says that it was there that they brought up a personality [1] .
In 2009, he entered the school of the National Theater "Samotsviti" (supervisor - Stelmakh Maria Grigoryevna). As his teacher, she made a significant contribution to the development of the future artist. The second teacher of theatrical skills of Kostya was the Honored Artist of Ukraine Natalya Evgenievna Buzko , actress of the comedy troupe "Mask Show" . Kostya became a laureate of the 1st degree of many city competitions and acting festivals, and was also a leading city events and events. At the same time he was engaged in creating his own style and music, trying his hand at various TV castings, which, alas, were not crowned with success.
In 2012, after graduating from a theater school with honors, Kostya tried himself as an assistant administrator on the set of the series “Longest Day”. In 2013, the nickname "Melovin" is born and the creative team "Big House Melovin" is created. According to Melovin, his pseudonym is a reference to two words: Halloween and the name of world-famous designer Alexander McQueen .
In September 2015, he entered the Kiev Institute of Music named after R. M. Glier .
Career
X-Factor Vocal TV Show Season 6
In 2015, Konstantin decided to try himself in the vocal show "X-Factor" - season 6 and takes place on TV casting [2] . The main incentive to make this decision was the support of my grandmother, which inspired the musician to move towards his goal.
Igor Kondratyuk became the mentor of the “Boys” category, who noted perseverance and talent in Constantine, taking him into his team [3] . Passing all the stages of the struggle on the Costa show, there was enough spectator support so that he would never be in the nomination for the departure. In the finals of the contest, he performed in a duet with the singer Jamala , performing her composition “Lost . ” December 26, 2015 at the gala concert received the title of winner of the 6th season of the show "X-Factor" [4] [5] .
In 2016, officially released her debut track, "Not Alone."
Eurovision Song Contest 2017
In February 2017, with the support of UA: PERSHIY and STB television channels, Ukraine is hosting the National selection of the Eurovision 2017 contest [6] . After submitting an application, Melovin with the track “Wonder” falls into the top 24 and wins the place in the final, where he receives the largest number of spectator votes in the amount of 60 thousand [7] . However, the opinion of the jury and the audience was divided, and Melovin took 2nd place. In the meantime, Wonder is leading the way in music charts.
After the selection, on the live show “Ukraine has talent” , Melovin presented his new track “Unbroken”, which also took the leading position in the charts, holding on to the first place for two weeks.
Eurovision Song Contest 2018
On February 17, 2018, Melovin with the new song “Under The Ladder” won first place in the second semi-final of Ukraine's National Eurovision Song Contest-2018 with a score of 17 points ( 8 from the judges and 9 from the audience ), thereby earning a place in the final.
February 24, 2018 in the final of the National Selection took first place, with a score of 11 points ( 5 from the judges and 6 from the audience ). Thus, he became the representative of Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon [8] .
Eurovision 2018
On May 10, 2018, the second semi-final of the Competition was held, where Melovin was the last to perform. According to the results of the audience’s voting, as well as the voting of the national jury, Konstantin received the right to speak in the final, which took place on May 12 in Lisbon.
May 12, 2018 in the finals took 17th place, receiving 11 points from the national jury of the participating countries (26th place) and 119 from viewers (7th place).
