Biography
Gail Foreman was born on June 5, 1970 in Los Angeles , USA .
Foreman wrote for Seventeen magazine, most of her articles were about youth and social issues. Later, she worked as an independent journalist for the magazines Details, Jane, Glamor , The Nation, Elle , Cosmopolitan . [one]
In 2002, she and her husband Nick went on a journey around the world, during which she gained experience and information, which later formed the basis of her first book, “From here there is no way. A Year on the Outskirts of a Shrinking World ”( eng. You Can’t Get There from Here: A Year on the Fringes of a Shrinking World ), published in 2005. [2]
In 2007, Foreman published her first teenage novel, Sisters in Sanity , which is based on an article that Foreman wrote for Seventeen magazine. [3]
In 2009, Foreman published If I Stay , a book about a seventeen-year-old girl named Mia who is in a car accident. The book describes how Mia, being in a coma, is fully aware of everything that is happening around and everything that her visitors do and say. The girl feels pain from the loss of loved ones, but she also knows about the love of living people for her, she has to make a choice - to stay or leave. Foreman received several awards for this novel. [4] In 2011, a continuation of this novel was published - “ Where She Went ” ( Eng. Where She Went ). The narrative in it is conducted on behalf of Adam and describes the relationship of Adam and Mia after the events of the previous book. [5]
In January 2013, Foreman published Just One Day , a story about Allison Healy, who, on the last day of her trip to Europe, meets Danish wandering actor Willem. Allison suddenly decides to go with Willem to Paris , where they spend one day together. [6] In October 2013, the sequel to this novel, “ Just One Year ”, was released. The novel describes the same events as in the previous book, but from the point of view of Willem. [7] The completion of the story of Allison and Willem “ Just One Night ” was released on May 29, 2014. This is a 50-page short story published in an e-book format. [8]
In January 2015, the book “I Was Here” was published about an eighteen-year-old girl who is trying to cope with the sudden suicide of her best friend. [9]
In 2016, Foreman published its first adult novel, Leave Me . [10]
Foreman lives in Brooklyn , New York , with his husband and two daughters, one of whom they adopted.
