History

After the Aleksandrovskaya (Belorusskaya) railway passed through this area in 1872, settlements from Spassky-on-Setuni appeared near the railway line, which eventually grew into independent villages Big and Small Setun .

Industrial enterprises began to appear near the village, the largest of which were: the wool-weaving manufactory of Sofia Sakse, the carpet manufactory of Ivan Peshkov, the weaving and weaving of Nikolai Schulz, the piston factory of the Russian-Belgian society and others. The largest of them was the factory for the production of canvas and belts Franz Reddaway.

When at the end of the 19th century Reddaway bought Setun Manor , the town began to acquire industrial features. The owner of the village and the factory opened a Setunsky hospital , a commercial school, and a public library in the vicinity. The hospital had three doctors, two midwives and three paramedics. Along with an outpatient appointment, there were 33 beds for seriously ill patients. Part of them was paid by the owners of neighboring enterprises. Also, a musical drama circle was organized in the village and a consumer society began to work.

In 1925, the Moscow District Executive Committee decided to establish the city of Kuntsevo, and the village of Bolshaya Setun with the adjacent summer cottage area also became part of it [1] .
