Sergey Mironovich Barinov (born 1945) is a Soviet and Russian material scientist, deputy director of the IMET RAS for scientific work, and a corresponding member of the RAS (2008).

Biography

Born on June 13, 1945 in Moscow.

In 1968 - graduated from the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys .

In 1975, he defended his PhD, and in 1987, his doctoral dissertation; in 2002, he was awarded the title of professor.

In 2008, he was elected a corresponding member of the RAS .

Deputy Director of IMET RAS for scientific work.

Scientific activity

Research interests: ceramic and composite medical materials intended for targeted bone tissue regeneration; structural ceramics; high strength state of ceramics.

Participation in scientific councils, commissions, editorial boards:

  • Member of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Inorganic Chemistry;
  • member of the scientific council of the basic research program of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences;
  • member of the commission for the competition of projects of young scientists at the OKHNM RAS;
  • member of the commission for the examination of research plans of OKHNM institutes;
  • Member of Editorial Boards of magazines: Key Engineering Materials (Switzerland), Powder Metallurgy Progress (Slovakia), Journal of American Society of Artificial Organs (USA), Factory Laboratory (diagnostics of materials), Physics and Chemistry of Materials Processing, Inorganic Materials, Materials Science (Deputy Ch. . Editor).

Scientific and organizational activities:

  • member of 3 dissertation councils,
  • Member of the Scientific Council at the Institute of Metallurgy and Materials A. A. Baykova RAS,
  • Member of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission.
