For more than a quarter of a century (1986–2012), he headed the department of infectious diseases and epidemiology of the Lugansk State Medical University , and he was professor emeritus (1999). He was the main infectious disease specialist in the Luhansk region.
Developed modern methods for the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic hepatitis, erysipelas; He was an innovator in the rehabilitation of secondary immunodeficiency states; He was widely involved in the promotion and implementation of a healthy lifestyle [3] .

Biography
As a schoolboy in 1966 he was awarded the VDNH bronze medal [4] . Prizewinner of the All-Russian School Olympiad in Chemistry (Kazan, 1966) and the All-Union School Olympiad in Chemistry (Dnepropetrovsk, 1967). He graduated with a gold medal from Alekseyev School No. 1. Then he graduated with honors from the Voronezh State Medical Institute (1973), where he was a Lenin scholarship holder. He studied in the student group of the Department of Microbiology, Professor M. V. Zemskov , was elected as his headman [4] . During his studies, he also worked in a hospital [4] . After graduation, he was enrolled in clinical internship, and after graduation from the university - in graduate school at the department of infectious diseases, he graduated in 1979. In the same year, in the 2nd MOLGMI in Moscow, he defended his thesis on viral hepatitis. He worked as an assistant (1978-83), assistant professor (1983-86) of the department of infectious diseases and epidemiology of alma mater. In 1986, at the Institute of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology. L.V. Gromashevsky in Kiev defended his doctoral dissertation on the pathogenesis and therapy of erysipelas recurrence. Then, in the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, he was asked to head the department of infectious diseases at the Lugansk Medical Institute [1] .
Since 1986, head of the department of infectious diseases and epidemiology of the Lugansk State Medical University. This department was the clinical base of the Pharmaceutical Committee of the USSR, and since 1999 the Pharmacological Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine [4] . The course of epidemiology was transferred to this department in 1987. The main scientific direction of the department was clinical immunology of various pathological conditions [1] . Prof. V. M. Frolov with the staff of the department, together with practitioners of public health, repeatedly participated in the elimination of outbreaks of infectious diseases, in particular in 1988-1989. - in Severodonetsk and Anthracite (outbreaks of pseudotuberculosis and yersiniosis), in 1989 - in Lugansk and Lutugino (outbreak of dysentery), in 1991-1992. - in Lugansk (outbreak of typhoid fever), in 1994 - in the city of Kirovsk (outbreak of hepatitis A and E) [5] .
In 1993-1999 expert of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine. The first CIS expert in the Higher Attestation Commission in the field of clinical immunology (since 1995) [4] .
He headed the Lugansk Department of Ecological Immunology and Genetics of the Ukrainian Scientific Center for Medical Genetics of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (opened in 1998).
He was the chief freelance infectious disease specialist of the Main Directorate of Health Care of the Lugansk Regional State Administration (since 1987 as the chief freelance infectious disease specialist of the Lugansk Regional Health Department), the chairman of the Lugansk Association of Infectious Diseases and a member of the presidium of the Association of Infectious Diseases of Ukraine .
He was chairman of the special council for the defense of doctoral dissertations (1991-2012), a member of the doctoral special council at the Institute. L.V. Gromashevsky AMS of Ukraine.
Doctor of the highest category in infectious diseases and clinical immunology. He was a Soros professor [1] . Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1995) and the New York Academy of Sciences. He practiced winter swimming for many years [6] .
He was a member of the editorial boards and editorial boards of the journals “Immunology and Allergology”, “Ukrainian Medical Almanac”, “Well-Gastroenterology”, “Successful Infections”, “Infectious Worms”, “Other Therapist”, and “Allerologist” as well as the deputy editor-in-chief of the scientific collection "Problems of Ecological and Medical Genetics and Clinical and Immunology".
In 1999 he was awarded the gold medal of the Polish Academy of Sciences [4] [1] . Celebrated with a silver medal of VDNH. He was noted with honorary diplomas of the Lugansk regional state administration, in 2006 he was awarded the medal of the Lugansk regional council "For Services to the Lugansk Region". He was awarded diplomas of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and medals "For Merits to the Luhansk Region" of the II and III degrees [1] . He was a laureate of the All-Ukrainian contest "Golden Fortune" (2001) [4] [1] .
The consultant and supervisor of 26 doctoral and over 130 master's theses, in particular, under his supervision professors Ya. A. Sotskaya and I. S. Gaidash defended their and their candidate and doctoral dissertations. The first doctoral candidate of the department headed by him was prof. N. A. Peresadin is a close friend and ally of V. M. Frolov [5] . V. M. Frolov was the leader and consultant of dissertations related not only to infectious pathology and epidemiology, but also to research in the field of therapy, pediatrics, hygiene, gynecology, oncology, psychiatry and other related specialties, which was associated with the needs of the Leningrad State Medical University in preparation necessary staff [5] . As V. M. Frolov himself noted: “With N. A. Peresadin, we are supporters of natural, natural methods of treatment in general - and patients with hepatitis in particular. For many years we have been actively using medicinal herbs, a variety of beekeeping products, as well as the method of hirudotherapy ”(2011) [6] .
The author of more than 1000 scientific articles and 25 monographs [1] , received 300 copyright certificates and patents for inventions of Ukraine and Russia [1] [4] . The author of works on apitherapy .
