The National Assembly (Assembly) is the lower house of parliament of Kenya . Until the 11th convocation of parliament, it was a unicameral parliament, and until 1966 - one of the two chambers of a bicameral parliament, the country's legislative body.

It has a total of 349 seats; 290 elected from constituencies of which 47 are women elected from constituencies and 12 appointed representatives. The Supreme Court of Kenya ruled lawmakers to enact legislation on gender quotas or dissolve themselves [2] .
