Dubovik, Alexander Semenovich

Alexander Semenovich Dubovik (08/29/1916 - 1999) - Russian scientist in the field of applied optics and equipment for high-speed photography, cinematography and for the study of fast processes, winner of the Stalin (1953) and Lenin (1966) awards.

Biography

Born on August 29, 1916 in the village of Sugar Plant in the Sumy region.

He graduated from the Moscow Geodetic Institute (future MIIGAiK ) (1939, before that he studied at the faculty of labor (1932-1933)).

Until 1946 he worked at the Geodesy factory.

Since 1946, in the special sector of the Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences , since 1963 in the Institute of Earth Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences , a participant in the Soviet nuclear project.

In 1970-1975 Head Laboratory of the All-Russian Research Institute of Optical and Physical Measurements.

Also, from 1965 to 1975, he conducted scientific and pedagogical activities at the All-Union Correspondence Engineering Institute , professor. From 1976 to 1986 - head of the Department of Applied Optics, MIIGAiK, from 1980 to 1985 - Dean of the Faculty of Optical Instrumentation.

At MIIGAiK he founded a new scientific direction - the development of optical systems and devices for the study of fast processes using high-speed photography and cinematography.

Doctor of Technical Sciences (1960), Professor (1965). Inventor (55 inventions), author of 200 publications.

Laureate of the Stalin Prize (1953), laureate of the Lenin Prize (1966) - for his work in the field of registration of fast processes during the creation and testing of nuclear weapons. Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation (1993). Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education in Russia.

He was awarded the Orders of Lenin and the Badge of Honor, and many medals, including foreign ones.
