Obrovo ( Belorussian. Abrova ) is an agricultural town in the Ivatsevichi district of the Brest region of Belarus . Center Obrovsky village council . The population of 1110 people (2009) [1] .

Geography
Obrovo is located 28 km southeast of the city of Ivatsevichi near the border with the Ivanovo district . The village is located on the northern outskirts of an extensive wetland and partially reclaimed area, known as the Sporovsky Marshes . The area belongs to the Dnieper basin, since the runoff from the Sporovsky swamps is carried out to the Yaselda river. The local highway Velikaya Gat - Motol passes through the village. The nearest railway station in Ivatsevichi (line Brest - Baranovichi ) [2] .
Title
The name Obrovo is associated with the ethnonym Obra ( Avars ), who, as the annals indicate, lived on the lands of the Dulebs (now the territory of the Brest region). [3]
Attractions
- Church of st. Michael the Archangel. The wooden Orthodox church was built in 1860. Monument of wooden architecture. The church is included in the State list of historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus [4] .
