Eldezh is located about 27 kilometers (on the highway) [3] south of the Voskresenskoye district center, on the nameless right tributary of the Khmelevaya river [4] , the center of the village above sea level is 112 m [5] . Transport communication is carried out on the regional highway 22N-1641 "Kalinikha - Eldezh - Nuts" [6] .

Patronymic name: from the Mari or Tatar name Eldash, meaning "friend, satellite, comrade" [7] .
