Vienna Residence Orchestra

Vienna Residence Orchestra ( German: Wiener Residenzorchester ) - Austrian symphony orchestra from Vienna . It was founded in 1989 by conductor Paul Moser for the performance of mainly light academic music, ranging from Mozart to Johann Strauss .

The notable successes of the Residence Orchestra are related to his performance at the celebrations in honor of the 200th anniversary of Mozart in 1991 and to the European tour that followed in 1992 , during which the orchestra was conducted by Rudolf Nuriev .

Concerts of the Residence Orchestra are held mainly in historical interiors, their home stage is the Vienna Palace . After the death of Moser in 2004 , the orchestra was led by Christian Pollack .
