ELEAGUE Major 2017 (also known as ELEAGUE Atlanta 2017 ) is the tenth Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major Series tournament , sponsored by Valve in January 2017 . The tournament was organized by Eleague , the tournament was held in Atlanta , USA . The prize pool of the tournament was one million US dollars.

Regional Qualifications (Minor Tournaments)

Minors were held in four regions: Asian, European, American and CIS. From each region, the two best teams got into the closed qualification. All games were played offline.

Format

The group stage of the tournament was held according to the Swiss system to three victories. All matches were played in the format of best of one (best on one card). In the playoffs, 8 out of 16 teams came out.

The playoffs were played on the Olympic system in the best of three format (the best on three maps)

Teams in the playoffs receive the title of "Legends", which gives them the right to speak in the next major. The remaining 8 teams receive a slot to participate in the closed qualification for the next major, bypassing the regional qualifications (minor tournaments)
