2018 Judo World Championship

The 32nd World Judo Championship was held from September 20 to 27, 2018 in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku . Competitions were held in the hall of the National Gymnastic Arena [1] . The competition was attended by 800 athletes (491 men and 309 women) from 129 countries [2] .

Prize Fund

The prize fund amounted to 800 thousand euros for personal credit:

  • Gold - 20.800 euros to the athlete and 5.200 euros to the coach;
  • Silver - 12,000 euros to the athlete and 3,000 euros to the coach;
  • Bronze - 6.400 euros to the athlete and 1.600 euros to the coach.

For the team championship, the prize fund amounted to 200,000 thousand euros:

  • Gold - 72,000 euros for athletes and 18,000 euros for coaches;
  • Silver - 48,000 euros to athletes and 12,000 euros to coaches;
  • Bronze - 20,000 euros for athletes and 5,000 euros for coaches.
