It is planned that the airport will become the largest in the world and will be able to serve about 150 million passengers annually (with an expansion of up to 200 million), and will serve more than 350 destinations. [2] . The first flight was to Ankara [3] This is the third airport in Istanbul, along with the Ataturk and Sabiha Gokcen airports, due to the lack of possibility to expand which it was planned for construction. After the opening of the new air port, Ataturk Airport is scheduled to close. It was expected that commercial flights would be transferred from Ataturk Airport until the end of 2018 [4] .
