Biography
Ashur-dan III, son of Adad-nirari III , took the throne after his brother Salmanasar IV .
The reign of Ashur Dan III was a difficult period in the history of Assyria. During his reign, King Urartu Argishti I of Urartu, fulfilling his plan to cover the possessions of Assyria from the east, continues to make trips to Manna and areas further south. In the northwest, Assyrians also lose their possessions.
