Biography
Viktor Krasnov was born on February 2, 1928 in the village of Derbyshki, Vysokogorsky district of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . He worked at the Kazan Optical and Mechanical Plant and at the same time was seriously engaged in boxing. It is likely that he gained knowledge about this sport from Leningrad specialists who were evacuated here during the years of World War II [1] .
As an athlete, he did not achieve any great achievements and early switched to coaching. Since 1955, for many years, he worked as a head coach at the Zenit voluntary sports society in Kazan . At the same time since 1960, he trained boxers in his own sports club "Rocket" in Derbyshki. For a long time he served as chairman of the coaching council of the national team of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
Krasnov compared boxing to chess, where intelligence plays a crucial role, making many quick decisions in a limited time. From the first trainings he taught the art of replaying, subtle tactics [2] .
Over the years of coaching, he trained many talented athletes who have achieved success at the all-Union and international levels. In particular, at different times, his students were masters of sports B. Grebnev, V. Indyukov, V. Shabanov and others. The most famous of all his pupils was the honored master of sports Ayrat Khamatov , world champion, silver medalist of the European Championship, winner of the bronze medal of the Games Goodwill in Seattle. For the preparation of Khamatov in 1989, Krasnov was awarded the honorary title " Honored Coach of the USSR " [3] [4] .
Honored Worker of Physical Culture of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1989).
He died on March 14, 2004 in Kazan at the age of 76.
Since 2009, the Rocket Rocket School for Children and Youth has hosted the championship of the Central Council of Women’s Boxing Federation of Physical Culture and Sports of the Trade Unions Russia in memory of Viktor Vasilyevich Krasnov in the USSR.
