Gourmite Ram Rahim Singh ( Skt. गुरमीत राम रहीम सिंह इन्साँ , Beng. ഗുർമീത് റാം റഹിം സിങ് ) (born August 15, 1967 ) is an Indian guru , leader (from September 23, 1990) of the spiritual community, , music producer , actor, director [1] , public figure. Known for its political influence [2] . The Indian Express placed Singh in 96th place on the list of the 100 most influential Indians of 2015 [3] . Singh also participated in disputes. The main Sikh leaders accused him of insulting their faith [4] [5] [6] . On August 25, 2017, a special court of the Central Bureau of Investigation convicted of rape [7] [8] [9] [10] .

Biography
Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh was born in August 1967 into a family of Jat Sikhs in Rajasthan. At the age of 7, he was consecrated in the sect "Dera Sacha Saud" by his predecessor Shah Satnam Singh [11] . He graduated from elementary school in his village Sri Gurusar Modia . On September 23, 1990, Shah Satnam held a satsang , where he publicly supported the holiness and continuity of the spiritual leadership of Dera Sacha Saud by Gurmet Ram Rahim.
Legal issues
He was accused of organizing mass castrations [12] [13] [14] , which had been hushed up for a long time [15] , however, he denied his involvement in this [16] .
In August 2017, in the city of Panchkula (state of Haryana) in northern India, a special court of the Central Bureau of Investigation was found guilty of rape by the court, resulting in protests of tens of thousands of his supporters, resulting in their with the police and the army, during which more than 30 people died [17] [18] [19] .
In January 2019, he was convicted of Russian murder a journalist for the daily evening newspaper Poora Sach, who was shot dead in 2002 after publishing critical articles about Dera Sacha Sauda [20] [21] .
Personal life
Married to Harjit Kaur , has three daughters and a son. They all bear the name Insan . Jasmite’s son is married to the daughter of Hamdinder Singh Jassi , the leader of the Punjab Congress. [22] His adoptive daughter Haniprit Insan is a film actress and director [23] .
