Testing New Rules

At the championship, experimental score rules were tested. Matches were held up to four games won, for victory in each of them the team needed to score 15 points (if at the same time the advantage over the opponent did not reach 2 points, the set lasted until the score 16:14, 17:15, etc.). The games were held without technical time-outs, the breaks between the games were reduced from three to two minutes. After the second, fourth, fifth and sixth sets, as well as when one team reached 8 points in the seventh game, the rivals changed sides of the court. In addition, the changes affected the filing. After its implementation, players were forbidden to land in the playing field [1] .

Group Stage

According to the results of the group stage, 2 best teams from each group went into the playoffs, where they continued the argument for 1–4 places, and teams from third and fourth places in the groups took part in playoff matches for 5–8 places .

For victories with a score of 4: 0, 4: 1 and 4: 2, teams were awarded 3 points, for a victory with a score of 4: 3 - 2 points, for a defeat with a score of 3: 4 - 1 point, for a defeat with a score of 2: 4, 1: 4 and 0: 4 - 0 points.
