History
The Progressive House track “Faded” is an updated version of Walk House’s electro- song “Fade”, which was released in 2014 by NoCopyrightSounds .
According to Alan, when creating “Fade”, he was inspired by the sound of the 2013 track Ahrix “Nova”.
“The melodies and manner of development of the track were so unique that they inspired me to create the track“ Fade ”, which later became“ Faded ”.”
Original Text (Eng.)
Inspired by the tracker’s progresses, it was Faded [2] .
Although the structure and melody are almost identical to “Fade”, “Faded” is distinguished by its piano intro and vocals by Iselin Solheim , as well as better sound work [3] .
Izzeline Solheim is the original vocalist, but during live performances Ingrid Helen Havik, Tove Sütürke , Alexandra Rotan, Torin Michel, Angelina Jordan and Sarah Larsson performed the vocals. [4]

The release of the video took place on December 3, 2015 [5] . As of January 2019, the clip on YouTube has been viewed more than 2 billion times.
The role of the protagonist in the clip was played by actor Shahab Salehi [6][7] . The shooting took place at the Rummu, Gorholle , Vasalemma (parish) and Paldiski quarries in Estonia . The ruins in the last frames of the clip were shot near the village of Laoküla in Keila ( ). The directors were Riccard and Tobias Huggb, Riccard was also an operator.
Gorhall, November 2011.
The video shows a young man in a mask and clothes similar to the clothes of the Black Block , a backpack and a photo of his house in his hand. He wanders through abandoned areas, including industrial destroyed buildings and structures. Guided by photography, he finally finds his home, but it is destroyed. Looking at the house, he removes the mask, and the screen gradually darkens [6] .
Faded (Restrung)
On February 11, 2016, Alan Walker published an acoustic version of Faded called Faded (Restrung). The musical series is performed only on the piano and string instruments, with all the elements of the EDM excluded from the track. He commented to The FADER from the fact that he decided to record an alternative version of the song:
R1 reactor hall at the Royal Institute of Technology , Sweden (2010)
"... I wanted to highlight other aspects of the song, introduce a song to a different audience that can appreciate Iselin’s voice and melody, but does not listen to electronic music."
Original Text (Eng.)
... to highlight other aspects of the song; I couldn’t like the idea of a solo [Solheim] [s ] .
Walker, Iselin Solheim and a string ensemble of 11 people appeared in the music video “Restrung”, performing in the hall of the dismantled R1, the first nuclear reactor in Sweden . All the actors are dressed in branded sweatshirts, which depicts the logo of Alan Walker, consisting of his stylized initials. The R1 reactor hall is located underground at the Royal Swedish Institute of Technology in Stockholm[9] .
Shooting the video was done by the same team as in the first one - Bror Bror was the producer, Riccard and Tobias Haggbm were playing the directors, and Shahab Salehi was involved as an assistant director. The atmosphere is very similar to the “Faded” atmosphere, according to Alan’s Behind The Scenes video, “Restrung” was filmed as a continuation of the original clip “Faded” [9][10] .
