Career
Geraldo Scotto was born to Frederico and Sophia Scotto [1] . He began his career at the club " November 15 " in 1950 [1] . In 1955, the defender moved to the “ São Paulo ”, for which he spent 4 games (two draws and two defeats). He then, on loan [1] , became a Santos player, winning with the club the champion of the state of São Paulo [2] .
In 1958, Scotto joined Palmeiras . In the defender's debut game, his club defeated Nacional with a score of 2: 1 [3] . The footballer played for this team for 10 years, having spent 352 games (215 wins, 72 draws, 65 losses) and scored 3 goals [2] . He won with the club three state championships, the Brazil Cup , the Rio São Paulo tournament and two Roberto Gomez Pedroza Cups . In 1962, Scotto was a candidate for a trip to the World Cup , but missed the tournament because of a broken leg. This injury, as well as a long recovery period, led to the fact that the defender lost his place in the first team, losing to Ferrari [4] , and entered the field only from the substitutes' bench. The player was even rented in 1966 for rent in the “ Ponte Preto ” [1] . The last match for Verdao was conducted by Geraldo on December 17, 1967 with Juventus Club (2: 1) [3] . He completed his career Scotto in the club "Nacional" [2] and Juventus in 1968 [1] .
